It is said ridesharing originated in Moscow around 2007. With a low, disproportionate number of car owners in the city and public transport that didn’t excite everyone, some people took to the streets with signs saying where they wanted to go. Drivers would pull over and give them a lift for a small payment. That’s how it commenced.

Here in Australia UBER was the first rideshare company to get started. Blatantly and knowingly in breach of local laws they commenced operating in establishing a fast, aggressive market start-up. Their rapidly growing popularity made it impossible for vote grabbing, filthy Australian Political Parties to shut them down.

After years of operating against the law and crippling an unpopular taxi industry the Polis legalised UBER and other rideshare companies.

Unfortunately they, with inept Ministers in charge (such as Ben Carroll in Victoria) could not properly manage the services through elements such as surge pricing and safety controls.

New divisions of the Public Service were established in an attempt to properly manage these new gig transport services, but these were doomed to fail – see Ben Carroll in charge

This website now exists as a free service to help shine a light (or blow torch) on Government and the vile rideshare companies themselves. We hope you, our readers, will benefit with improved consumer street smarts.

It is also our hope you can share your own experiences and insights into this “new’ form of transport that will be with us for generations.

May Governments, with our collective assistance, learn how to properly manage the rideshare companies!

Heaven knows, if we waited for the services themselves or worse still, Governments to do something, or be proactive, we’d be foolish.

Read, learn and provide your feedback. Above all else, be informed and understand what’s really happening.

Please note – you can advertise on this page – if interested please get in touch with us!

Within this website

You will find basic instructions in respect to app functions. Useful tips for riders and drivers.

There is also an opportunity to email your questions for specific answers to things we’ve missed in the content.

If you’ve been using ridesharing already it will also alert you to street smarts for the future and things to consider as you use the services more.

Our forums will provide an insight into the experiences of both riders and drivers. At times these may be confronting but simultaneously providing an example of the gaps in the service provided by the operators!

Forums and More

This site seeks to help both riders and drivers in a unique platform. The rideshare companies themselves operate in a manner that does not always respect their customers and their so called driver partners. Governments the world over have struggled and at times failed to properly manage the service standards and conduct of the rideshare operators. That’s why we’ve stepped in to disrupt and improve the space. In the short history of ridesharing, companies have already gone broke and closed. What happens to your personal details when this happens? Are the current operators likely to survive? Are they ethical? Are you safe as a rider or driver? We’ll explore this by exchanging experiences and opinion.

some brief background

Our Background

Taxi meter calculating passenger fare

A few years ago, two friends became rideshare drivers, in Melbourne, following a period of unemployment and a desperate need for income. Like many others, a steep learning curve commenced on the world of ridesharing. What we learned in the ensuing years about the rideshare companies, our Government and the media was fascinating and will be presented on the pages of this website. It is our hope ridesharing will continue, but in an improved form and with the assistance of both riders and drivers becoming more aware and street smart. In turn, the rideshare companies and our “Governments” will be encouraged/forced to make more responsible decisions in improving the services for riders and drivers alike. Leverage is needed, and visitors to this site can provide that leverage! Thank you for visiting and for your contributions via our forums and email service.
