Filthy Politicians vs Rideshare Admin
Mandatory mask wearing in Rideshare/Public Transport in the pandemic
It was mandated by Government that mask wearing was compulsory for Ridesharing, both drivers and passengers.
The rideshare companies progressively dropped off presenting the message to their drivers and riders alike – they simply didn’t wish to keep the issue going. Bad for business and created too many cancellations. So they just threw the drivers under the bus and let them handle it. UBER would send a long winded bullshit message to drivers who reported a non mask wearing rider, but that’s all it was – standard UBER crap.
In reality, you’re more likely to contract the “virus” in Ridesharing or public transport than just about anywhere else, but please, don’t involve us, was the stance the Rideshare Operators took. Just let the drivers deal with it. DiDi didn’t even present an option, post ride to report a non mask wearing rider, such was/is their duty of care. They, quite simply, should be shut down by Government.
Government Departments and Ministers who made the decree on mandatory mask wearing did not wish to follow through in 2022. No officers enforcing mask wearing on Public Transport and no effective control over Rideshare Operators either. For God’s sake it’s an election year. Let the drivers and riders sort that out!
Very happy to lock people down. However, when there’s an election , well that’s a different story. Please do not vote for Ben Carroll or Dan Andrews!
Rideshare Drivers were required to submit regular cleaning reports during the final stages of the pandemic, yet no action was taken on this. If a driver failed to submit the records, they were still able to continue to drive. Government management was quite simply hopeless and if you think the Rideshare Operators are ethical, rethink that. They’re not interested in rider or driver welfare.
Our filthy Politicians just wanted to prop up their own stocks in 2022. Further conflict re mask wearing would only impact negatively on incumbent Governments. Create the law/rules, but don’t enforce them if it’s going to influence voters the wrong way. There was no really genuine attempt to manage infections via public transport or Ridesharing beyond March 2022
